6. Traffic signalling and traffic equipment on roads
7.
8. The regulations determine the purpose, types, meaning, shape, colour, size, properties and placement of traffic signalling and traffic equipment on public roads. Traffic signalling and traffic equipment warn road users of hazards, restrictions, prohibitions and obligations, provide the necessary information for safe and unhindered traffic, and guide them in traffic. The proposed signalling and equipment ensures the implementation of traffic rules and measures for traffic safety and indicates road traffic arrangements. An integral part of the regulations are vertical, horizontal and tourist and information signage.
9. The Convention on Traffic Signs, concluded in Vienna on 8 November 1968, ratified by the Republic of Slovenia on 22 September 2010, and entered into force on 14 April 2011, stipulates that the international uniformity of traffic signs and symbols on them is necessary to facilitates international road traffic and increases road traffic safety. Traffic signalling is essential for the safe, smooth and clear flow of road traffic. It must comply with applicable standards and regulations, and it must also be properly installed and maintained. With its form and content, it warns road users of hazards, restrictions, prohibitions and obligations and provides the necessary information for safe and unhindered traffic, which is why its design features are also important.
