5. Guidelines and Regulations for Road Traffic (RVS) 08.23.05 Technical contract conditions, road equipment, steel vehicle restraint systems
6. This RVS shall be used for the manufacture, delivery, assembly and repair of steel vehicle restraint systems (FRS) permanently used on public roads and their components. This includes all steel construction parts used in impact dampers and initial, final and transitional constructions.
FRS for temporary use are excluded from the scope of application.

9. On 1 January 2011, CE marking became mandatory for the (ÖNORM) EN 1317 series.
Furthermore, the present RVS must also be revised on the basis of the publication date (May 2005) and finally it must take account of EN 1090.

15. In general, no additional costs are to be expected from the revision, since the necessary tests have to be carried out as before in accordance with the specifications of the EN 1317 series (ÖNORM).
