The technical test conditions for road marking systems [Technischen Prüfbedingungen für Markierungssysteme – TP M 17] contain requirements for testing the suitability of permanent (white) and temporary (yellow) road markings created by road marking systems. The regulations stipulated therein are based on testing standard DIN EN 13197. They either refer to this standard specifically in certain points or determine which of the possible parameters under DIN EN 13197 are to be applied in Germany. The regulations apply to permanent and temporary road markings, unless stated otherwise in the respective sections.

These technical test conditions for road marking systems adapt the national requirements for testing road marking systems listed in Chapters A and B of the technical delivery conditions for white road markings [Technischen Lieferbedingungen für weiße Markierungen – TL M 97] to bring them in line with the latest technology and permanently withdraw said technical delivery conditions.
