to ensure the safety and isolation of drivers from
any risk of aggression or disturbance by users or
strangers.

8. The measure in question consists of five articles and a technical annex, which identifies the technical requirements of the glass/glazing means of protection for drivers for
buses used for scheduled services, in accordance with the provisions of Article 17(3)(d) of Decree-Law No 104 of 10 August 2023.

9. It is necessary to adopt the decree due to the frequency of aggression and disturbance caused to bus drivers on urban, suburban, and interurban bus routes.
The installation of a bulkhead to protect the driver is a safety requirement that results in safer driving of the vehicle, reducing the possible risk of external interference to the driver.
