8. The Ordinance on the marketing of tobacco seeds prescribes the conditions for the production of tobacco seeds, their categories, the certification procedure, the procedure for official supervision of their production, the method of processing seeds, quality requirements, the procedure and method of issuing certificates, the method and conditions of their packaging, sealing and labelling, and the conditions for their placing on the market and import.

9. On 1 January 2022, a new Act on Seeds, Propagating Material and Recognition of Varieties of Agricultural Plants entered into force. The Ministry of Agriculture is obliged to draw up a new ordinance governing the placing on the market of tobacco seeds.
