6. Ministerial order approving the Regulation of Legal Metrological Control of Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment

This Ordinance, in accordance with the guiding Community principles, is intended to adopt regulations to ensure compliance of Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment intended for the commercial transaction of electrical energy supplied by or received through each charging point, in particular the specific conditions to be observed in the exercise of legal metrological control of such instruments, and to establish the requirements applicable to such control.

9. In the light of the updating of the general regime approved by Decree-Law No 29/2022 of 7 April 2022, as well as the general regulatory provisions laid down in the General Regulation on Metrological Control approved by Ordinance No 211/2022 of 23 August 2022, and the relevance of its application in ensuring the accuracy of measurements and promoting consumer protection, it is necessary to approve the specific regulations with which metrological control of Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment intended for the commercial transaction of electrical energy supplied by or received through each recharging point must comply.
