8. Key proposed changes to the regulation on cableways are:
- Clarify general requirements for when a cableway with an operating permit is considered to have an acceptable safety level.
- Clarify the documentation that must be submitted for a cableway to obtain an operating permit. We differentiate between cableways that comply with directive 2000/9/EC and regulation (EU) 2016/424, and cableways that were originally installed before the directive.
- Clarify the rules for modifications to cableways and significant modifications to cableways.

9. The proposal seeks to make the regulation easier and more accessible by making a clear distinction beteeen cableways that comply with directive 2000/9/EC and regulation (EU) 2016/424, and cableways that were originally installed before the directive.
