8. Draft Regulation of the Federal Minister for Housing, the Arts, Culture, the Media and Sport amending the Radio Interface Description Regulation 2014, as amended in 2019.
The radio interface describes the interface parameters required for national frequency use.
9. With the currently valid Radio Interface Description Regulation, BGBl. II No. 65/2014, air interfaces for radio equipment are defined, in which are contained the parameters required for the use of radio path frequencies between radio equipment devices. These parameters can be used as a technical basis for demonstrating the conformity of radio equipment with the necessary requirements, pursuant to § 3 of the Federal Act on Market Surveillance of Radio Equipment (Radio Equipment Market Surveillance Act – FMaG 2016) and thus act as a facilitator for trade and industry.
Since the publication of the last amendment, changes have again become necessary. This is taken as an opportunity to revise the entire regulation in order to remove the uncertainties caused by the amendment.
The present draft therefore takes into account, on the one hand, the existing legal situation and, on the other hand, the need for changes, additions or deletions that have arisen since the last amendment, which has arisen as a result of technological developments and changes in market needs.
Descriptions are provided exclusively for radio interfaces that are not harmonised across the Union.
