8. The main content of the Order is not changed in this update. The Order on technical certification scheme for wind turbines underwent a major revision in 2020. This update of the Order is a minor update with the latest versions of international technical standards and procedures for declarations of conformity. However, it should be noted that the Order does not contain requirements going beyond the contents of the Machinery Directive. In addition, the Order contains a number of clarifications in relation to current rules and practices. See also the attached Order with track changes.

9. The Order contains requirements for certification of wind turbines as well as service and maintenance. The aim is to ensure the durability of the wind turbine throughout its lifetime, which is a prerequisite for wind turbines in Denmark to obtain building permits from the municipality and to be connected to the grid. This update of the Order is a minor revision, with few additions and clarifications of existing rules and practices. As an example, please refer to updated versions of standards and certification procedure, as a procedure for type certification of wind turbines is released in a new version.
The overall purpose of the Order remains that wind turbines installed in Denmark meet technical standards relevant to safety, health and (acoustic) noise.
