5. National Self-Exclusion Platform Directive

6. A description of the procedures and technical requirements of the National Self-Exclusion Platform which aims to provide details on how the communication between the platform and the licensed operators is implemented.

The purpose of this Directive is to describe the procedures and technical requirements to be applied by licensed Category B operators in relation to the operation of the National Self-Exclusion Platform (NSEP). NSEP is an online service designed by the National Betting Authority (NBA) that aims to facilitate the exclusion of individuals from betting-related activities to all licensed online gambling providers operating in the Republic of Cyprus (Category B License holders). Central to this commitment is the establishment and maintenance of a blocked player list (hereinafter the blocking list) and the provision of a REST API through which operators can submit queries to this dataset and determine the exclusion status of their registered users, limiting their participation in the bet accordingly.

This document details the procedures and technical requirements of the NSEP and aims to provide details on how to implement the communication between the platform and the licensed Category B operators and what specific data is exchanged in the process.

9. This Directive is drafted on the basis of the provisions of Regulation 23 of the Regulations on Betting (Protection of Players, Minors and Pathological Players) of 2022 (or ‘Player Protection Regulations’), as amended or replaced.

The application of the technical requirements described in this Directive is mandatory for all authorised Category B operators.
