5. Draft law amending the amended Law of 11 August 2006 on tobacco control

This draft law intends to transpose into national legislation Delegated Directive 2022/2100 of 22 June 2022, introducing an obligation for new tobacco products to carry health warnings on their external packaging and containers, and also prohibiting the use of flavours and additives for new tobacco products, as is already the case for cigarettes.

9. The primary purpose of this draft law is to transpose Commission Directive (EU) 2022/2100 of 29 June 2022 amending Directive 2014/40/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the withdrawal of certain exemptions in respect of heated tobacco products in response to significant developments regarding this type of products. This draft also intends to complete the transposition of Directive 2014/40/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 3 April 2014 on the approximation of the laws, regulations and administrative provisions of the Member States concerning the manufacture, presentation and sale of tobacco and related products, by supplementing the amended Law of 11 August 2006 on tobacco control, in particular with several definitions provided for in Directive 2014/40/EU.
