8. The aim of the draft decree-law is to establish the regulation for the installation, operation, repair and modification of simple pressure vessels and pressure equipment, describing the licensing procedures to which this equipment is subject for putting into service and keeping in operation.

The draft decree-law is intended to repeal Decree-Law No 90/2010 of 22 July 2010, in order to review the licensing procedures for simple pressure vessels and pressure equipment, in view of the provisions of Decree-Law No 37/2017 of 29 March 2017, which transposed into national law Directive 2014/29/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 February 2014, and of Decree-Law No 111-D/2017 of 31 August 2017, which transposed into national law Directive 2014/68/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 May 2014, and introduce simplification measures in the licensing procedure, in order to ensure more effective management and greater streamlining of processes, thus reducing associated red-tape costs.
