6. The draft Regulation applies to food of plant origin

7. - Regulation (EC) No 1925/2006 on the addition of vitamins and minerals and of certain other substances to foods

8. The draft Regulation establishes a list of plants and parts of plants prohibited for use in foods

9. The draft Regulation has been produced in order to establish a list of plants and parts of plants prohibited for use in foods. This will support the protection of public health and will help inform consumers about the food's suitability for its intended purpose. The draft Regulation will facilitate the operation of food enterprises involved in the handling of food by setting clear conditions regarding the prohibition of the use of certain plants and parts of plants in food (in food supplements, herbal teas, syrups, extracts, mixed seasonings and other products)
