Draft Order of the Minister for the Environment of the Republic of Lithuania amending Order No D1-901 of the Minister for the Environment of the Republic of Lithuania of 10 December 2015 approving Technical Regulation for Construction STR 1.01.04:2015 ‘Assessment, verification and declaration of the constancy of performance of construction products without harmonised technical specifications – Designation of testing laboratories and certification bodies – National technical assessments; designation and publication of technical assessment bodies’ (hereinafter referred to as the draft project)

This draft Order delegates the functions performed by the Ministry of the Environment of the Republic of Lithuania with regard to the designation of testing laboratories and certification bodies, the designation of Technical Assessment Bodies (hereinafter referred to as the TABs) to the public institution Construction Sector Development Agency (hereinafter referred to as the Agency).

9. In view of the fact that, in accordance with the approved regulations, the Ministry of the Environment of the Republic of Lithuania formulates state policy in the areas specified in the Regulations but does not perform the functions of implementing legislation, this draft Order shall assign to the Agency the functions relating to the designation of testing laboratories or certification bodies, suspension of the designation, withdrawal of the suspension of the designation and withdrawal of the designation, in accordance with the procedure laid down by the Minister for the Environment,
and the functions relating to the assessment and designation of
designated bodies seeking to be designated in the Republic of Lithuania as TABs for the preparation and issue of national technical assessments and/or European technical assessments, monitoring of their activities and competences,
suspension of the designation, withdrawal of the suspension of the designation and withdrawal of the designation,
in accordance with the procedure laid down by the Minister for the Environment.
