8. This measure consists of seven articles and two annexes (Annex A and Annex B), which form an integral part thereof.

Annex A: Characteristics and requirements to be met by devices or systems, and procedures for prototype approval, calibration and functionality checks
Annex B: List of devices or systems approved in accordance with Ministerial Decree No 282/2017 that are to be considered approved because they comply with the provisions of Chapter 1 of Annex A

9. The purpose of this measure is to approve devices or systems, with the intention of including in this process all calibration and functional verification operations that are carried out in the three phases of the life cycle of those devices:
• prototype approval;
• calibration and initial checks of individual devices;
• calibration and periodic checks of individual devices.
Without prejudice to the fact that the checks required for the approval of devices or systems comply with the provisions of Ministerial Decree No 282/2017, it has been clarified that the approval process shall be strengthened by requiring quality certification from producers (ISO 9001) and allowing checks to be performed by bodies authorised by the Ministry, accredited in advance by Accredia, in order for the individual device produced to comply with the approved prototype to the greatest extent possible.
