8. The project aims to establish a new system of deposit limits for participants in national online gambling activities, applicable to all operators with which the participant has a user registration, and compatible with the current system.
Other amendments are aimed at updating certain content (updating the amount of the guarantees linked to licences, modifying the provision regarding the method of establishing guarantees, etc.).
9. - Strengthen the current system of gambling deposit limits by establishing a single deposit limit system per player and a single system for all operators with which they have a gambling account, which will improve player protection. The purpose of establishing this type of limit system is to create an effective tool that facilitates the self-monitoring of deposits made by participants, by considering all operators licensed to market online gambling at the national level as a single spending unit in this regard.
- In the context of the safe or responsible gambling policy, this measure will increase the level of protection for gambling participants and strengthen the tools available to users to manage their spending and, finally prevent the emergence of addictive behaviours, which is the ultimate objective that guides the establishment of limits and the regulation of online gambling in general terms.
- The remaining amendments aim to update certain aspects of Royal Decree 1614/2011, of 14 November.
