8. The AMA Quality Seal Guidelines for Arable Crops is amended as follows:
• Adaptation of the provisions for Good Agricultural and Environmental Condition (GLÖZ - Austria´s implementation of the EU`s GAEC standards) to the minimum requirements for the GAEC standards listed in Annex III to Regulation (EU) 2021/2115, as amended by Federal Law Gazette (BGBl. II No. 383/2004) (amendment to Chapter C, Section 1, Subsection 1.7).
• Adaptation of the GLÖZ provisions to Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/587 (amendment to Chapter C, Section 1, Subsection 1.8).
• Re-assessment of the measure "Greening of arable land – catch crop" and inclusion of the measures "Non-productive arable land" and "Agroforestry strips" in the assessment of the arable farming-relevant ÖPUL (Austrian programme for the promotion of environmentally sound, extensive agriculture that protects natural habitats) measures with a focus on climate, soil and biodiversity protection (Chapter D, Section 1, Subsection 1.1).
• Renaming of the measure "Greening – catch crop" to "Catch crop 10 %’ and change of the symbol for the basic measures (Chapter D, Section 2, Subsection 2.6).
• Addition of the measure "Greening – catch crop 25 %’ to the basic measures (Chapter D, Section 2, Subsection 2.7).
• Addition of the measures "Non-productive arable land" and "Agroforestry strips" to the supplementary measures (Chapter D, Section 3, Subsections 3.6 and 3.7).
• Addition of the measures "Non-productive arable land and agroforestry strips" to the overview of the arable farming ecological measures and their ecological objectives (Chapter D, Section 4, Figure 8).
9. • The amendments to the AMA Quality Seal Guideline for Arable Crops 2026 serve to adapt it to updated legal requirements.
• The further development of the guideline with regard to ecological practices leads to greater freedom of choice for agricultural holdings in implementing measures for environmental, climate, soil and biodiversity protection.
• The amendments were made in consultation with the responsible expert committee, which consists of representatives from the entire value chain for cereal products.
