5. Recommendations for the granting of exemptions under Section 70 of the Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StVZO) for certain types of vehicles and vehicle combinations (Recommendations on Section 70 of the StVZO)

6. For the exceptions described in the recommendations, the consultation procedure under Section 70(1)(2) and/or (2) of the Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StVZO) has been carried out in general terms, thereby rendering a consultation procedure for each individual case unnecessary.

8. The recommendations relating to Section 7 are intended to facilitate the uniform and more rapid approval of exemptions from the provisions of the StVZO. As the authorities concerned have already, in principle, been consulted, it is often possible to dispense with a time-consuming consultation procedure in individual cases. This simplifies and standardises the authorisation process.
It also sets out when the Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) (Federal Motor Transport Authority) may grant exemptions independently and when further consultation is required.

9. Approval procedures should be carried out more easily and faster.
