8. The current Regulation would be updated to reflect the amended legislation. In addition, the aim is to focus the general provisions on the control of conformity of production in the draft Regulation on the conformity of production control procedures.

According to the section 66, subsection 8 of the Vehicles Act, the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency may issue more detailed regulations on the written control plans for the control of the conformity of production of national, E, and EU type-approval and national small series type-approval and on the product conformity arrangements deemed sufficient. The Act amending the Vehicles Act (493/2023) entered into force on 1 April 2023. Section 66, subsection 8 of the Act was amended to include EC type-approved vehicles in the scope of the power to issue regulations, which would be reflected in the Regulation issued by the Agency.
