6. Technical equipment for implementing telecommunications surveillance and information disclosure measures in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany

Issue 8.3 differs from its previous version, TR TKÜV, Issue 8.2 by further developments in the Technical Specification ETSI TS 103 120 for the transmission of orders from the authorised bodies to the obligated telecommunications companies. In addition, the specifications for e-mail services are to be harmonised with ETSI standards in the future.

Details are listed at the end of the Technical Guideline under the item ‘Summary of Edition’ in table row 8.3 (see last page of the Technical Guideline submitted for notification, page 150).

9. The adaptation of the Technical Guideline is necessary in order to provide operators and, in particular manufacturers and developers of technical equipment, with the detailed specifications required to implement and supplement the corresponding ETSI standards for the technical design of equipment for the legally regulated areas of:

a) measures for telecommunications surveillance;
b) provision of information on inventory and traffic data

and which are essential for the interaction of such equipment with that of the law enforcement and security authorities.
