7. - Directive 2000/13/EC relating to the labelling, presentation and advertising of foodstuffs

8. Alignment with Community law; retention of national regulations on the production of beer and on the production and shipment of nitrite curing salt; retention of national provisions on the labelling of foodstuffs to be supplied to consumers which contain certain additives and are not accompanied by a list of ingredients.

9. The provisions bring German law on additives in line with European Union law.

Article 1(§ 3) continues national provisions in accordance with the possibility of restricting additives to beer traditionally produced in Germany under Regulation (EC) No 1333/2008. The regulations on nitrite curing salt in Article 1(§ 4) are also updated for health protection reasons. Article 1(§ 5) improves consumer information on certain additives, in particular in foods supplied in bulk, in line with the opening clause in Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 and protects the consumer from possible misleading information.
