8. Draft national regulations made under the Road Traffic Acts to set down technical standards for electric scooters intended for use in public places in Ireland.

9. These regulations refer to industrially manufactured products (electric scooters). They set down vehicle standards for electric scooters intended for use in public places. Electric scooters outside of the parameters outlined, or which do not meet the minimum vehicle standards, will be prohibited from use in public places. Other types of electric scooter may legally be purchased but may only be used on private land.
