5. Draft law ‘Amendments to the Handling of Alcoholic Beverages Law’
6. Alcoholic beverages, including beer, brewed beverages, products that belong to categories of intermediate products and other alcoholic beverages

The draft law lays down a ban on sales of such alcoholic beverages that belong to the category of beer, brewed beverages, intermediate products and other alcoholic beverages with an alcoholic strength by volume that exceeds 5.8%, if they are packaged in containers exceeding 0.5 litres, as well as alcoholic beverages of the said categories with an alcoholic strength by volume that does not exceed 5.8%, if they are packaged in containers exceeding 1 litre.
The above bans shall not apply to cases when the said beverages are packaged in containers made of glass, ceramics, wood, metal or complex packaging materials that consist of a polymer or laminate bag placed in a cardboard box.
9. Due to lower prices of plastic bottles, beer and cider packaged in 2–2.5 litre plastic bottles are less expensive than beer and cider packaged in smaller glass bottles or cans. As alcoholic beverages packaged in large plastic containers are less expensive, strong beer is mostly purchased by persons that abuse alcohol, especially in rural areas, while cider is purchased by young people.
By reducing the amount of alcohol consumed at any one time, any harm to human health will be reduced, while at the same time allowing savings to be made on healthcare costs and making a positive long-term contribution to the economic development of the country, maintaining and improving the population's welfare and capacity for work.
