6. Labelling of food of animal origin with husbandry system in which the animals from which the food was obtained were kept:
- animal husbandry concerned: Husbandry of pigs for fattening
- affected foods: fresh meat obtained from fattening pigs, including minced meat and offal, with the exception of meat preparations.

8. Rules on the introduction and use of mandatory state animal husbandry labelling for fresh unprocessed meat of fattening pigs originating from pigs in Germany and produced in Germany.
- Rules on the voluntary participation of foreign businesses and food business operators in labelling.
- In connection to the labelling of foodstuffs:
- Design of labelling on packaged and unpacked foodstuffs
as well as in online retailing,
- Tasks of the Federal States and the Federal Office for Agriculture and Food
Monitoring compliance with the specifications of the Act,
- Finning provisions for violations of the Act.

9. 89 % of consumers in Germany, when asked which information is important to them on food packaging, state that information on the husbandry conditions of animals in products of animal origin is important or very important to them. A mandatory animal husbandry labelling, which makes it clear that animals are kept better than is required by law, considers 87 % to be important or very important. The introduction of animal husbandry labelling in this Act takes into account the needs of consumers. The law improves the knowledge base for autonomous decisions when purchasing food with regard to animal welfare aspects. Consumers’ freedom of choice in terms of animal welfare consumer protection will be strengthened.
